Skate Like A Girl

Back by popular demand, Seattle’s very own Skate Like a Girl crew is here to lead this girls only camp! Learn how to skate from enthusiastic and talented instructors from all around the world! Participants will learn skateboarding basics in a safe, fun and supportive environment. Open to girls of all skill levels. Skateboards and helmets will be provided to those who do not have their own. Ages 10-16.

Babysitting is important business and good babysitters are always in demand! Safe Sitter® is a nationally recognized training program that teaches the skills to do the job well and earn parents’ trust. Safe Sitters will leave this training with a valuable toolkit of medically accurate, up-to-date information and potentially life-saving skills to add to their babysitting resumes. Participants will learn:

  • How and where injuries can happen, and how to prevent them
  • How to perform infant/child choking rescue
  • How a child’s age affects how to care for them
  • How to prevent problem behaviors
  • How to effectively run a babysitting business

Little Big Top Circus Academy

The Circus is a combination of many physical arts that have been practiced world-wide for thousands of years. Kids will find this camp fun, interesting and challenging as they are introduced to a variety of skills inspired by circus artists from around the world. Activities include Juggling, Trapeze, Tightrope, Unicycle, Tumbling, Acro-balance, Stilt-walking, Clowning, Magic and more. Jason Quick has been teaching and performing professionally for over 18 years and holds a Masters Degree in Applied Behavioral Science. Jason facilitates the meaningful work of learning and growing so that this can be a powerful experience for all participants.

Dance Camp

Dance, dance and more dance. Making her first Island Rec dance offering, Islander Michelle Mazzarella and her 17 years of dance experience are sure to be a hit. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn basic Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop dance skills, infused with games, crafts, and team-building exercises. There’ll be tons of fun and fitness in a safe and supportive environment. Participants will learn a short dance routine to perform for friends and family at the end of camp! Bring water bottle and athletic clothing.

Rhymes & Beats: Hip Hop Lyrics Workshop

Rhymes & Beats: Playing with Words when Rhythm Counts! The magical art of stringing together words to create emotions and visual images for the listener is the work of poets, spoken word artists, song lyricists and hip hop rappers. Global Heat, a Seattle based band, is putting on this very hands-on/voice-on/words-on workshop and demonstration. Fun for all ages. Global Heat will be playing at the Music on the Lawn concert series that night.
