BABYSITTING CLASS Ages 11+ NEW!
Babysitting is important business and good babysitters are always in demand! Safe Sitter® is a nationally recognized training program that teaches the skills to do the job well and earn parents’ trust. Safe Sitters will leave this training with a valuable toolkit of medically accurate, up-to-date information and potentially life-saving skills. Participants will learn how to perform infant/child choking rescue, how a child’s age affects caring for them, how to effectively run a babysitting business, and more. A minimum of 6 participants is needed by the early fee deadline.

TENNIS SKILLS Ages 11 – 14
All levels of players are welcome in this fun tennis program! Instructor Laura Geniuch teaches this class that will focus on adapting the game to each student’s age and ability level. Some racquets are available but if possible participants should bring their own. Bring a filled water bottle and be prepared to play outdoors! A minimum of 5 participants is needed by the early fee deadline.

BICYCLE TOURING: San Juan & Shaw Islands Ages 10-15 NEW!
Biking is a great way to take in the local scenery and get some good exercise in the process! Join us for two days of pedal-powered touring on San Juan and Shaw Islands! On day one we’ll do bike checks and a road safety review before cruising around the 6-mile Turn Point/Pear Point loop. The next day we’ll hop the ferry to ride the quiet roads of Shaw Island for 8 miles. Participants must bring their own bicycles in good working order. Helmets are required. Bring water, sunscreen and lunch. A minimum of 8 participants is needed by the early fee deadline.

MARIMBA on the ROCK! Ages 8-18 NEW!
Get ready for an exciting Zimbabwean music and cultural experience! Zimbabwean musicians Jacob Mafuleni and Martha Thom, and Margie Smith of Island Marimba Studios have extensive experience working with youth and will teach marimba, dancing, drumming, singing, storytelling, group games, and other cultural activities. Camp will culminate with performances and a potluck-style picnic for family and friends on the last day. A minimum of 15 participants is needed by early fee deadline.

CAMP STITCH-A-LOT - Ages 9-15  
Back by popular demand! Every great fashion designer starts with learning how to sew! Open to both boys and girls, this week-long camp will teach participants how to operate a sewing machine, use patterns and measure and cut fabrics. Participants will leave with a personalized pair of shorts or pajama pants and a unique tote bag. Sewing machines and supplies provided. Participants will need to supply their own fabric for their projects. A minimum of 4 participants is needed by early fee deadline.

LITTLE BIG TOP CIRCUS ARTS CAMP -  Ages 7-14
The Circus is a combination of many physical arts that have been practiced around the world for thousands of years. Kids will find this camp fun and challenging as they are introduced to a variety of skills inspired by circus artists from around the world. Activities include Juggling, Trapeze, Tightrope, Unicycle, Tumbling, Acro-balance, Stilt-walking, Clowning, Magic and more. Jason Quick has been teaching and performing professionally for 17 years, and facilitates the meaningful work of learning and growing so that this can be a powerful experience for all participants. A minimum of 10 participants is needed by early fee deadline.

Island Rec Waiver must be turned in prior to the first day of participating in all programs.

Refund policy: If Island Rec cancels a program you will receive a full refund. Refunds requested before the early fee deadline date (or at least 5 business days before start of program if no early fee deadline) will be subject to an 8% service fee, with a minimum of $12, max $45. No refunds after the deadline date. No refunds on trips or tours.
