Register now for Island Rec’s summer day camp – Camp Eagle Rock! For ages 6-12, this fun, summer-long day camp is full of activities, sports & games, arts & crafts, field trips, swimming, and more! Camp runs from June 25-August 10, Monday – Friday. An application form is required prior to registration. Check out the Camp Eagle Rock page for more information and to download an application form.

Did you know Island Rec offers scholarships for many of its programs? If you or your family is in need of financial assistance to participate in one of our programs, please ask! We offer scholarships based on household income, as well as if your children qualify for free or reduced lunch at the school. The application process is simple and your answer is immediate. 22nd Annual Children’s Festival – May 5

This favorite community event is just around the corner! Set your calendar for the Children’s Festival – Saturday, May 5th at the San Juan County fairgrounds from 10 am – 2 pm. Admission is free and children will enjoy activities from over 30 community partners. This year’s theme is “Leap Off the Page” – bringing your stories to life! Off-Island Hike: Iceberg Point & Watmough Bay

Join us for a trip over to Lopez Island on Saturday, April 21, to hike 3 miles of easy trails that contour bays, beaches, and wetlands along dramatic cliffs. Meet with a local land steward to learn more about local plants and history! $19, ages 15 & up.

This Friday, April 6th is Island Rec’s annual Teen Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt at the Turnbull Gym! Grab a flashlight and a friend for a night of hunting for Easter Eggs in the dark. Grades 6-12, FREE! 8:30 – 9:30 pm. See you there!

Summer Co-ed Softball League – registration now open!

It’s not too early to get your team registered for the 2012 season of adult co-ed softball! This summer league has games on Tues/Wed evenings from June through August. Sunday practices begin May 6. Register by April 26! $375/team. Visit our softball page for more information and to register.

Dog Park Closure

Bicycle Tune Up & Bike Swap Saturday, March 31

Bring the whole family and your bicycles to this free event from 10 am – 1 pm at the FHES Play Shed! Volunteer mechanics from Island Bicycles and Travel Light Cycles will provide basic tune ups. Helmet fitting, safety tips, demonstrations, and a bike swap – bring your usable bikes, parts and gear to swap with others! Sponsored by the SJI Trails Committee Bike Paths group of Island Rec.

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament – Saturday, March 24

Form a team and play it out on the court! Teams of three are recommended, but four will be allowed (additional fee). A grand prize will be awarded to the first place team!
