]]> Whenever Island Rec cancels a program it will be posted on www.islandrec.org and will be announced  on Island Rec’s recorded phone message at 378-4953.

The following guidelines will apply:

Island Rec’s morning programs, ie. Active Senior Fitness and Moving Parts and Healthy Hearts will close when the school announces a late start or school closure.

Afternoon and Evening programs  (i.e. STAR, basketball practices, open gyms and fair building programs) will be cancelled whenever the school closes or is dismissed early because of snow or inclement weather.

When school is not in session Island Rec will make a decision about canceling a program  1 1/2 hours before the scheduled start of the program and post it accordingly.

Exceptions to these guidelines will be announced on www.islandrec.org and on Island Rec’s recorded phone message.

]]> The new quarter pipe at the skate park is open! For the 2011-2012 Junior community projects class Will Kromer, Jacob Jackson and Tk Kromer planned the addition of a cement quarter pipe to a section of the skate park. The quarter pipe is twenty feet long, three and a half feet tall and located in the corner of the new skate park area closest to the parking lot and the family park. The cooperation of Island Rec, The SJC Fair, The Gates Foundation, The Family Resource Center and contributing parents has made this possible.
